Norcal Surf Retreats is officially going international!
Join us for 4 days of yoga, meditation, daily (and some nightly) outdoor excursions in line with our theme of reconnecting to our roots.
Our Mission and Philosophies
Other than education, the Center's mission to is to inspire, facilitate healing and help connect you to your higher self. Here we believe there are a variety of means to do that and one size does not fit all. That is why we designed these retreats the way we have. So YOU are in charge of your health and healing journey. With us, you choose your own adventure.
We have 3 primary programs we offer, all with additional services you may sign up for. However, at any time you may opt out of any acitivity if your mind, body or spirit needs to do so. But if you choose to dive in wholeheartedly (which we highly recommend), your retreat will include an adventure & sport component, a yoga component and a reiki or massage component. We connect you to your higher self by also connecting you to this earth and its elements, connecting you to your spirit, mindfulness and moving your Qi through all of it for optimal processing and integration.
Starting at $850, our Base Individual Package for our Costa Rica Retreat retreat Includes:

FAQ
What transportation is included?
Transportation is NOT included BETWEEN the San Jose airport and the retreat venue Jungla Del Jaguar. But that doesn't mean we will leave you to fend for yourself. On the Jungla del Jaguar's website, they have two links, each dedicated to facilitating your travel needs. One is for the Sierpe Boat service. The other is general Getting Here directions. We will also copy and paste this in your members area chat. This is the same group and chat you will be added to upon purchase for lifetime access to your content and retreat homies. We highly encourage connecting with each other and sharing information and resources when and where possible. Carpool is it makes sense, or do not if it does not. We want you to have enough information for you to make that decision on your own.
Is there wifi or cell phone signal?
This is a truly off-grid retreat. There is no regularly usable wifi or cell phone signal at Jungla del Jaguars.
However, we are still prepared for the unknown and the safety of our staff and participants. Wifi can be made available in the event of an emergency. It will not be turned on for general email, social media, or other similar online activities.
Remember, our primary goal is to disconnect from tech, and Return to Your Roots.
Refunds, Cancels and Weather
We don't control the weather, therefore (similarly to a ski resort), we unfortunately are not able to issues refunds for acts of nature.
Deposits and Financing
Our standard payment option (via this website) is 50% down at sign up and then the other half upon arrival. The first half is non-refundable. However, we do offer financing and have listings on other retreat databases (such as bookyogaretreats.com) where you can put 1/3 down as your non-refundable deposit. Please contact us directly for financing options.
We have limited spots available and have put our heart and soul into planning these experiences for you and our time is valuable. We understand certain emergency situations will arise and we will deal with those on a case by case basis. If you are unable to attend due to a documented emergency, we will issue you a credit voucher for the next time you are able to visit, or you can transfer your reservation to someone else. Last minute cancels or no-shows without an approved emergency documentation will forfeit their deposit.
Getting There and Flights
Flights are not included.
We recommend flying into San Jose the day before (Dec. 7th) and allowing yourself plenty of time to travel to Manuel Antonio and then to Sierpe. From Sierpe you will take a boat.
Please visit these links for the Sierpe Boat Guide and more specific details on how to get to our magical destination.. We will help you coordinate with other retreat participants to make your journey as easy as possible.
Can I opt-out of an activity?
We want to be as accommodating as best we can. Therefore, we can offer you SOME activity substitutions (to the best of our ability) if for some reason you are physically unable to participate in one of our included services. For example, if you have a condition where massage is contra-indicated (very rare), we can substitute that for any of our other ala carte services. However, that does need to be discussed and arranged in advance. As these retreats are planned in advance, last minute accommodations may not always be possible.
Do you include lodging?
As you can see above, our base package included 4 days and 4 nights of lodging accomodations with meals. That base package is for 4 nights in the dorm.
However, we are also offering couples, friends and group discounts as well as just lodging upgrades to private rooms. For now, all lodging upgrades, group or couples pricing can be accessed via bookyogaretreats.com
Is this a surf retreat? Is surfing an option?
Although we ARE NorCal SURF Retreats, this is not a surf retreat. We have expanded our retreat offerings to other excursions and adventures that we love, not just surfing. However,...
There is a spot to surf at in Drakes Bay plus a spot closer to the Jungla del Jaguar hostel. The spot near the hostel is for intermediates or above only and is only accessble by boat. So that would need to be arranged the day before. you wanted to surf. The Drake's Bay location would only be an option before or after your retreat as it would also reuire another boat ride. The Jungla del Jaguar is only accessible by boat. Therefore, any activities off the property require a boat to get to them.
What are the dates of the Return to Your Roots retreat?
Our dates are 12/7-12/12. We have opening ceremony the evening of December 7. Closing ceremony and checkout December 12. This is why we recommend booking your flights for 12/6 or early `12/7 arrival into San Jose and departure from San Jose 12/12, the day before and after the retreat. This allows you ample time to travel from the airport to the Jungla del Jaguar, and also allows for any travel issues that may arise.
